DAY 1 | Sat 3 July 2010 | Kakadu
... into the Top End!
You will be met at Sydney Airport by your Tour Director,
who will accompany you on a daytime Qantas flight
to Brisbane and on to Darwin. In Darwin we board
our 6 star luxury coach and travel south along the
Stuart Highway to Kakadu Highway. Then on through
Humpty Doo to Fogg Dam Nature Reserve for lunch.
We experience the fabulous birdlife of the Reserve
before we make our way to the Aurora Kakadu Resort.

DAY 2 | Sun 4 July 2010 | Katherine
... we of the Never, Never land!
After a leisurely breakfast we set off into the Park to
arrive early at Ubirr Rock: the beautiful aboriginal art
will amaze you, as will the view over the wetlands.
Then it’s back to Jabiru and Bowali Information Centre
for our morning break. This afternoon we explore
mysterious Nourlangie Rock with its shelters and
rock art including Nammagon (Lightning Man), before
our afternoon cruise on Yellow Waters Billabong.
Crocodiles, crocodiles!! Then we head south to the
old gold mining town of Pine Creek before we arrive
in Katherine for our stay at the Knott’s Crossing Resort. (B,L,D)
DAY 3 | Mon 5 July 2010 | Kununurra
... into a different world!
This morning we begin our West Coast Adventure
of a lifetime and travel west along the Victoria Highway
to Victoria River and Timber Creek. Upon leaving
Timber Creek we follow alongside the mighty Victoria
River for a few kilometres before heading inland and
passing the turnoff to Bullo River Station, once the
home of Sara Henderson, the well known author of
‘From Strength to Strength’. We cross into Western
Australia to the Ord River Scheme and visit the
Argyle Dam, You’ll sleep well tonight at Kununurra’s
All Seasons Motor Inn - our stay for the next three

DAY 4 | Tues 6 July 2010 | Kununurra
... the mighty Ord River!
Kununurra is a modern town and the centre for the
mighty Ord River Irrigation Scheme. We have optional
early morning flights over the Argyle Dam, the Ord
River on to the Bungle Bungles and returning via the
Argyle Diamond Mines. The flights take about two and
a half hours and will afford you one of the best views
of the magnificent Kimberley region you’ll ever have.
Alternatively, you may like a shorter flight (35 mins) over the Ord Scheme (the Packsaddle and Ivanhoe Plains Irrigation Areas), the Carr Boyd Ranges, the
Argyle Dam wall and Lake Argyle. This morning we explore the town and environs including the view from Kelly’s Knob before we embark upon a tour of the Ord River Scheme visiting tropical agricultural farms producing a variety of products such as sugar, melons and special flower crops. We enjoy lunch at the Zebra Rock Gallery, and then depart for a fabulous Sunset Cruise of Lake Argyle to see the diverse wildlife that inhabits the shores at dusk. Hand feed fish and freshwater crocodiles (if you’re game) and meet a family of Euros who have lived on a small island since Lake Argyle was filled in 1974. We enjoy champagne, drinks and nibblies as a beautiful sunset unfolds, before returning to Kununurra. (B,D)
DAY 5 | Wed 7 July 2010 | Kununurra ... El Questro Magic!
Today passengers embark upon a special tour of El Questro Station. Travelling to Wyndham and up to the Five Rivers Lookout for a spectacular view, then to the biggest crocodile you’ll ever see, as we explore aspects of this historic town with its rich links to the Australian pearling industry. Then on to the Gibb River Road en route to the famous El Questro Station. We have a morning tea break in the Emma Gorge Resort before we trek into Zebedee Thermal Springs for an exclusive swim. Then into the El Questro Township for a sumptuous lunch in the Steakhouse Restaurant. During the afternoon we enjoy our champagne cruise on Chamberlain Gorge. Then it’s back to Kununurra for our dinner under the stars. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 | Thurs 8 July 2010 | Halls Creek
... the Argyle Diamond Mine!
After a leisurely breakfast we depart via the Great
Northern Highway through Turkey Creek for our
special tour of the Argyle Diamond Mine and a
wonderful lunch. Then on to Halls Creek where we
visit the Great Wall of China before returning for our
stay at the Halls Creek Motel. (B,L,D)
DAY 7 | Fri 9 July 2010 | Derby
... exploring the Kimberley!
This morning, we travel to Fitzroy Crossing and on
to Brooking Springs at the entrance to Geikie Gorge
National Park for our morning cruise back in time,
on Geikie Gorge. The walls of the Gorge are embedded
with fossils (part of a 350 million year old Devonian
Reef) and the water life includes sharks, stingrays,
crocodiles and swordfish that have adapted to
the fresh water. Cruise the Gorge that inspires
photographers and artists from all over the world.
Our overnight stay is at the King Sound Resort in

DAY 8 | Sat 10 July 2010 | Derby
... the shortest day!
We board our special 4WD bus to tour the Devonian
National Park in the King Leopold Ranges. On past
limestone ridges, remnants of ancient coral reefs of
unmatched grandeur, to spectacular Windjana Gorge
with its limestone cliffs rising to 100 metres. These
massive ancient coral reef structures were formed
600 million years ago and rise majestically from the
flat plains. We travel to Tunnel Creek, where we have the chance
to explore, and, for the adventurous, either walk or
swim through Tunnel Creek, a tunnel carved by erosion
through the Napier Range. Then along the Gibb River
Road to Derby and the King Sound Resort. (B,L,D)
DAY 9 | Sun 11 July 2010 | Broome
... a thousand islands!
We rise for our special seaplane flights (optional)
to land at the Horizontal Waterfall in the Buccaneer
Archipelago. Here we transfer to a Sharkcat jetboat to
speed through the falls once or twice! Wow! Adrenalin
Plus! Our flights are limited to 10 at a time, so as we
wait for our flight we can explore Derby, a unique
place, with its giant Boab trees (believed to be 500-
1,000 years old) and fascinating Jetty that hosts the
highest tides in the Southern Hemisphere (with king
tides rising as high as 12 metres). Visit Wharfingers
House Museum, or just relax. Once the last flight
for the day has departed for the Horizontal Waterfall
we head for Broome and our stay at the Mangrove
Hotel Resort. (B,D)
DAY 10 | Mon 12 July 2010 | Broome
... exquisite pearls and Diamonds!
Today, you do the tourist bit, with our tour through
Chinatown, the original commercial centre of Broome,
once a bustling hub of pearl sheds, billiard saloons,
entertainment houses and Chinese eateries, now the
home to some of the world’s finest Pearl Showrooms,
as well as the Japanese Cemetery and Broome Port. Then you’ll enjoy free time to explore on your own,
and possibly, make purchases of exquisite South
Sea Pearls. Your hotel is just a short walk to the hub
of Broome, so shop till you drop or just enjoy the
tranquility of the pools at the Mangrove Resort.
This afternoon we visit to Cable Beach (22 kms of
white sand and clear tropical water) – which is the
perfect spot to relax, swim and to enjoy champagne
and Australia’s best sunset. (B,D)
DAY 11 | Tues 13 July 2010 | Broome
... shopping, pearls and fun!
Today, we depart for a tour of Willie Creek Pearl
Farms. This is a great way to understand the science
and the precision involved in this multi billion dollar
industry, and just why Broome pearls are the best in
the world. We return around lunchtime and the rest
of the day is free to explore or just relax. (B,D)
